Once upon a time, an old mother pig had three little pigs. The old pig did not have enough food to feed them, so they were hungry. When she was old enough, she sent them to seek their fortunes in the world.

The first little pig was lazy. He didn’t want to work and built himself a straw hut. The second little pig worked harder, but he was also lazy. He constructed his house out of sticks. They then spent the remainder of the day singing, dancing, and playing together.

The third little pig worked hard all day and built a house out of bricks. The house was sturdy and had a fine fireplace and chimneys. It looked to be sturdy enough to withstand the strongest winds.

The next day, a wolf passed by the lane where the three little pigs lived. He smelled the pig inside the straw house. He thought the pig would be a delicious meal, and his mouth began to water.

So he knocked on the door and said,

    Little pig! Little pig!

Let me in! Let me in!

But when the little pig saw the wolf’s large paws through the keyhole, he replied:

    No! No! No!

Not by the hairs on my chinny chin chin!

Then the wolf showed his teeth and said:

    Then I’ll huff

      and I’ll puff

and I’ll blow your house down.

So he huffed and puffed till he blew the house apart! The wolf extended his jaws wide and bit down hard, but the first little pig escaped and fled to hide with the second little pig.

The wolf walked down the path, passing by the second stick home; he saw the house and smelt the pigs inside, and his mouth began to water as he imagined the delicious feast they would cook.

So he knocked on the door and said:

     Little pigs! Little pigs!

Let me in! Let me in!

The little pigs, however, saw the wolf’s sharp ears through the keyhole and replied:

     No! No! No!

Not by the hairs on our chinny chin chin!

So the wolf showed his teeth and said:

     Then I’ll huff

      and I’ll puff

and I’ll blow your house down!

So he huffed and puffed till he blew the house apart! The wolf was greedy and attempted to grab both pigs at the same time,  His huge teeth clamped down on nothing but air, and the two little pigs scurried away fast.

The wolf followed them down the lane, and he almost caught them. They did, however, make it to the brick home and close the door before the wolf could cache them.

The three little pigs were scared because they knew the wolf wanted to eat them. That was correct. The wolf hadn’t eaten all day, but he’d worked up an appetite following the pigs around, and now he could smell all three of them inside, and he knew the three little pigs would be a delicious feast.

So the wolf knocked on the door and said:

     Little pigs! Little pigs!

Let me in! Let me in!

But when the little pigs saw the wolf’s narrow eyes through the keyhole, they replied:

     No! No! No!

Not by the hairs on our chinny chin chin!

So the wolf showed his teeth and said:

     Then I’ll huff

      and I’ll puff

and I’ll blow your house down.

Well!  He huffed and puffed and tried to blow the house down, but he was unsuccessful. Finally, he was so out of breath that he couldn’t huff or puff anymore. So he took a break and thought for a while.

However, this went too much. The wolf danced around in wrath, swearing he would come down the chimney and eat the little pig for supper. But, while he climbed to the roof, the little pig built a blazing fire and set a large pot of water to boil.

Then, just as the wolf was about to go down the chimney, the little piggy pulled off the lid, and the wolf fell into the boiling water.

So the little pigs put on the cover again and cooked the wolf, and the three little pigs enjoyed him for dinner.

Moral of the Story: “Don’t rush the process, good things take time.” “Be patient good things take time.”
