Summary:
In this poem we see brother Jack and sister Jill climbing a hill. They are carrying buckets of water. There is a well on top of the hill. Both the children are going upstairs to fill the bucket with water. Filling the bucket, they start going down. Jack suddenly loses his balance and falls down, breaking his crown. As a result, he hurts himself and spills all the water, and Jill rolls in behind him.
After being hurt, Jack got up and ran back home. He threw himself onto his bed and then covered his head with vinegar and brown paper. Jill, who had come after Jack, saw how sad he was and how he was injured. Next, Jack’s mother came in and saw her son in bed and sick. She was angry at Jill for not taking care of Jack better.
